Prepping You for Show

In traditional fairs, (in mine too.) you wear black jeans. It gives off that elegant/sophisticated look. I personally prefer Wranglers, Levis's, or Lucky Jeans. Make sure they are black boot-cut. When putting on your jeans, put them over your COWBOY BOOTS. Do traditional cowboy boots; not the stupid tourist ones with flowers and jewels all over them. Some people prefer lime green, or hot pink show shirts; don't do this!! They think it makes you stand out to the judge. Do something simple. Even though you may blend in or be in the back round, the judge appreciates someone that shows up traditionally and is there to win. Sure the poppy colors make the judge look, but thats something that someone does when they haven't worked with their animal. They want the judge to look at them so they win instead of the people that really did work hard.  Now my show shirt this year has flowers all over it. But keep it soft. Don't pop. Don't do jewels for the love of god... Now tuck your shirt into you jeans. Always wear a belt; now you can get looser on the jewels now. But don't get to loose... Get a nice belt buckle; for instance, my belt buckle is of a girl on her horse with her arms wrapped around his neck. ALWAYS go with silver. Silver can be worn with any show shirt and can be worn beautifully on black jeans.  Now girls, a french braid looks best I think. Besides, what else could you do? Boys, brush your hair out. Just look clean cut for show day, and by reading this blog, I bet you a million dollars you'll be in the winners circle.
