First day: "How in the heck did I ever halter break my lamb last year?!" This is a pain in the butt, I know. But they come around. Key is to work everyday with your lamb. Like CRAZY. First day, they either fall to the ground and you end up dragging them, or the run and jump laps around you with no control. This years lambs were very different from each other; Silverado dropped to the ground, while Springsteen would pause and freak out if Silverado got to far ahead. This will happen most likely on the first to second day. The next day is major refusing/ pulling. This is a drag. Use your whole weight to pull him with you and soon he will get that your in charge and walk with you. But keep a strict eye on them because I was at weight in and a girl ended up dragging her lamb on its side for more then 20 feet. Whatever you do, do not do this.. Or else... (awkward pause..) Anyways!! Just work everyday and something will click.
